The Culture 2011 Tall Ships Regata: Klaipėda
August 18 to 21 days in Klaipeda will take place in a spectacular sailing events in the Baltic Sea – “The Culture Tall Ships Regatta 2011. After the success of the Tall Ships Races 2009 Klaipeda in 2011 is once again preparing for a fleet of sail.
International Sail Training Organisation (Sail Training International) organized the unusual The Culture 2011 Tall Ships regatta to mark the Finnish city of Turku as the European Capital of Culture year. The Culture 2011 Tall Ships Regatta will be held after the Tall Ships Races in 2011 and thus extend the Tall Ships festival season until September.
Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Gdynia (Poland) agreed to combine forces with the Turku (Finland) and held the city lektynių two phases, which is important not only racing excitement, but these three countries’ culture and identity regatta host cities. Tall Ships Regatta will start in Klaipeda, from which the fleet will race to Turku and then to the city of Gdynia.

Rugpjūčio 18 – 21 dienomis Klaipėdoje vyks vienas įspūdingiausių buriavimo renginių Baltijos jūroje – „The Culture 2011 Tall Ships Regata“. Po sėkmingo renginio „The Tall Ships Races 2009″ Klaipėda 2011 metais vėl rengiasi priimti burių laivyną. Tarptautinė buriavimo mokymo organizacija (Sail Training International) organizuoja šią neįprastą The Culture 2011 Tall Ships Regatą, kad pažymėtų Suomijos Turku miesto, kaip Europos kultūros sostinės, metus. The Culture 2011 Tall Ships Regata vyks po The Tall Ships Races 2011 ir taip pratęs didžiųjų burlaivių festivalių sezoną iki rugsėjo mėnesio. Klaipėda (Lietuva) ir Gdynė (Lenkija) sutarė sujungti jėgas su Turku (Suomija) miestu ir surengti du lektynių etapus, kuriuose svarbus ne vien lenktynių azartas, bet ir šių trijų šalių kultūra ir regatą priimančių miestų savitumas. Didžiųjų burlaivių regata prasidės Klaipėdoje, iš kurios laivynas lenktyniaus iki Turku, o tuomet iki Gdynės miesto.

The Tall Ships’ Races Baltic 2009
2009 m. liepos 2 – 5 dienomis Gdynės mieste (Lenkija) prasidėjo pirmasis „The Tall Ships’ Races Baltic 2009″ etapas. Gdynėje startavę burlaiviai lenktyniavo antrojo „The Tall Ships’ Races Baltic 2009″ regatos uosto – Sankt Peterburgo (Rusija), regatą priėmusio liepos 11 – 14 dienomis. Nelenktyninis devynių dienų buriavimas vyko iš Sankt Peterburgo į Turku uostą Suomijoje, kuris legendinėmis burėmis mėgavosi liepos 23 – 26 dienomis ir iš kurio startavę burlaiviai varžėsi finaliniame varžybų etape Turku – Klaipėda. Liepos 31 – rugpjūčio 3 dienomis Klaipėdą papuošė šimtai burių. Į Klaipėdą 2009-aisias atvyko 99 laivai: 18 – A klasės burlaivių, apie 20 – B klasės burlaivių, 61 – C ir D klasės jachtos. Renginyje dalyvavo apie 3000 laivų įgulų narių. Klaipėdoje vyko regatos „The Tall Ships’ Races Baltic 2009″ pasitikimo bei išlydėtuvių šventės, miesto svečiai galėjo gėrėtis uostą paliekančių ir į jūrą išplaukiančių burlaivių paradu. Svarbiausi regatos renginiai Klaipėdoje buvo šventės atidarymas, laivų lankymas, įgulų paradas, kapitonų vakarienė, įgulų vakaras, sportinės varžybos, ekskursijos, priėmimai laivuose. Klaipėdoje tuo pat metu vyko ir tradicinė Jūros šventė – abu renginiai papildė vienas kitą, Klaipėdą keturioms dienoms paversdami tikru šalies kultūros uostu. Daugiau šventės akimirkų – 2009 m.
